Dick Palmer Principal of City College Norwich backs the bid

City College Norwich is offering complete support for the Norwich bid to be the UK City of Culture. Becoming the first city to attain this prestigious title wold, I believe, enhance my students' confidence, CVs and chances of making a success of their careers both within the region and on a national stage.It would also improve the perception of the city and its residents both locally and further afield which could lead to increased tourism and other economic benefits to us all.

We already have a fantastic events programme over the year, not least the College's own range of performances, shows, musical activities and end-of-year exhibitions which would undoubtedly be complemented by City of Culture status.

Most of all, a successful bid would enable us to strengthen and sustain our cultural infrastructure and enable more creative and cultural activity across the region.
