Norwich is a vibrant, youthful and creative city that has a strong DIY ethos. Every night of the week you have an exciting selection of poetry readings, live music and comedy taking place in the backrooms of almost every pub. It seems that everyone in Norwich is a writer, musician, promoter and actively attends locally produced performances. It is strongly independent and this is never more so visible than in the unofficial cultural quarter of Norwich âThe Lanesâ. This is where you can find our flagship venue the Norwich Arts Centre, my favourite live music pub The Ten Bells (with its wicked red telephone box) and the medieval community arts centre (run by volunteers)  St Gregoryâs. Our passionate, committed and ultimately generous artistic folk dedicate hours to maintaining our arts scene with little or no money, proved by the success of SoapBox and the Norwich Fringe festival. It is to these people that I send my gratitude; love and respect for creating such a wonderful city that I never want to leave.
