How can you get involved in the Norwich bid and share what you know about the culture of Norwich?

The real culture of Norwich is about the things that people all over the city do every day - at home, in schools, in clubs, in cafés and pubs, as hobbies or as part of organisations. This is your chance to upload photos, music and videos and tell the story about your Norwich and what you do in the city.  

If you don't know how to upload, there are instructions on the right. Your submission will be moderated before it is added to the site. As with all public content, please make sure your content is suitable for everyone to read.

We've turned off the public form submission due to abuse but if you would like us to add your business or project to the directory, please email us on hello@wintercorn.com and we'll add it in straight away.

I'm a student from NUCA and I stydu BA (Hons) Illustration (first year).
Much of my work involves figures that I enjoy depicting in unrealistic surroundings because this allows me endless possibilities for including additional imagery
My favourite art movement is Art Nouveau and my favourite artists are Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha.
In my childhood, I was driven to explore the world through drawing. I tried to draw what I saw around me starting with simple things that a young mind just begin to grasp, e.g. Sun, but as time passed and my understanding of the world grew I began to explore my thoughts, interests and ideas in more complex way. My inspiration could be triggered not only by my ideas about today’s society but by creativity that comes from others.

Some basic facts

  • Norwich was one of the shortlisted cities bidding to be the 1st UK City of Culture in 2013
  • Derry/Londonderry was chosen out of a field which included Norwich, Sheffield and Birmingham by an independent panel of judges led by Phil Redmond
  • The Norwich bid was led by a bid team made up of representatives of the Council - the lead body, the City of Norwich Partnership and representatives of major cultural organisations in the city through consultation with a wider range of groups, advisors and individuals
  • Although Norwich didn't win, the bidding and consultation process will help to develop a 2020 cultural vision for the next 10 years in the city through a new cultural partnership for Norwich
  • The Norwich bid was supported by Stephen Fry, Amit Chaudhri, Miranda Raison, Richard Jordan, Marco Pierre White,more than 6000 Facebook supporters, the Evening News and EDP, the business community, dozens of arts organisations and thousands of people across the city, county and region
  • Norwich is already a city of culture!
